Final check

Before you call it finished…

The tool can generate. The designer still has to understand, question, choose, communicate, test and take responsibility.

Purpose

  • Does it answer the brief?
  • Is the audience clear?
  • Can I explain the core idea in one sentence?

Thinking

  • Did I explore more than one direction?
  • Can I explain why I chose this direction?
  • Are important claims or insights supported by evidence?

Communication

  • Is it clear what the audience should notice first?
  • Does the visual hierarchy support the message?
  • Does the tone suit the audience and idea?
  • Does the story or information flow make sense?

Test

  • Have I shown it to someone without explaining it?
  • Did they understand what I intended?

Responsibility

  • Have I considered accessibility, representation and possible impact?
  • Have I considered materials, waste or lifespan where relevant?

Authorship + AI

  • Can I explain the important design decisions?
  • If I used AI, did I question, select, change and refine what it generated?
  • Does the final outcome reflect my thinking rather than simply the tool's output?

Reflect

  • What worked?
  • What would I change?
  • What will I take into the next project?
